Do yourself a favour and take a young drive to Helen's house!

Oranjezicht City Market has been relocated to Leeuwenhof (residence of the Premier of the Western Cape) and it was definitely a good move! The rolling green lawns were covered in hipsters, elite Capetonians and Rayban wearing babies.

Their were definitely far too many options in the food department (don't take that as a complaint, but rather as a hint at my lack of decision making skills!) from decadent desserts to boerie that would make the most hardened plaas seun crack a smile and then, of course, the banting option for all of Tim's mates.

...and then their was the infamous burger bar of Inside and You're Out!

At first bite this burger hits you with the complete overwhelming sense that you will never taste anything quite as good wrapped in brown paper!

I went with the Whiskey Braai-BQ, and there is absolutely nothing that could be more satisfying than smoked cheddar oozing out of a perfectly tender beef patty only to be topped with topped with avo, wild rocket, caramilised onion and the crowd pleasing Whiskey Braai-BQ sauce... yup whiskey in a burger, that is when you know the weekend has arrived! Your taste buds will be in a heavenly frenzy, and one bite is definitely not enough!

My advice: start the weekend the right way, go hungry, dress slightly cooler than usual and soak up the greatness of the Mother City!

Make your way to Leeuwenhof on a Saturday morning between 9am and 2pm!
