Durban Dwelling

I made my way back to KZN, land of the zulu, my home town not too long ago and indulged in the good things that make home, home (thanks mum and dad).

First on my list of places to go was a family favourite Bellevue Cafe.

Bellevue is a hub of mommy-brunches, family lunches and coffee dates. As you walk into the restaurant through the gigantic wooden door you are met with a hum of chatter and a smell that promises good food.

Being a cold day I went for the chicken curry pie, a decision that left the rest of the table with major food envy!

At First Bite the chicken curry warmed you from the inside out, just the right amount of spice to get the tastebuds tingling and the soft crunch of golden pastry to complete the delectable mouthful! There is noway you could possibly stop after that first bite, and you might even find yourself scraping every last bit out the bowl with your shoe-string fries (don't hesitate - no one will judge).

My advice: if you ever find yourself in the small village of Kloof make your way to Bellevue Cafe and treat yourself to the pie of the day, the calamari salad or even just a coffee and something sweet off the cake table.
